#7 - Lighting to make Shine
Following last week’s post on adding color accents, today we’ll focus on another powerful design tool: lighting. The right lighting doesn’t just brighten a room — it shapes its mood and makes small spaces feel larger and more inviting.
Start by maximizing natural light wherever possible. Keep window treatments light and airy to let sunshine pour in. For artificial lighting, layer different sources: overhead lights for general illumination, floor or table lamps for warmth, and accent lights to highlight decor or artwork.
Wall-mounted sconces or pendant lights are great space-savers, freeing up valuable floor and surface areas. Choose warm white bulbs to create a cozy, relaxed atmosphere, or adjustable lighting to shift between bright and soft as needed.
